We are delivering workshops about the Initial Assessment and Referral-Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) – A mental health initiative developed by The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DOHDA).

Primary care professionals can often be the first and sometimes only point of contact for women affected by Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence. For those from CALD communities, the challenges are often greater—compounded by language barriers, migration-related stress, cultural stigma, fear of authority, and unfamiliarity with available support services.

Australia’s primary care landscape is evolving with the rollout of MyMedicare, a voluntary patient registration model aimed at strengthening continuity of care, and significant Mental Health MBS item number changes under the Better Access initiative. These reforms are designed to streamline service delivery, improve patient outcomes, and better align funding with quality care.

In partnership with Ochre and Salt, we invite GPs, nurses, practice managers and practice staff in the Blue Mountains region to join this three-part self-paced training series.
