responding in a calm, trauma-aware and child-centred manner, and understanding when and how to refer to
specialised services.
This session is suitable for GPs, nurses, mental health clinicians, and allied health professionals seeking practical
guidance in supporting children, young people, and families where PHSB is present.

• Learn about factors that may interrupt these developmental stages and how this may contribute to PHSB
•Identify the signs of PHSB and the importance of recognising the child/young person’s context
•Identify what is required when PHSB is discovered or disclosed
