The Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) has funded a pilot initiative focused on improving the primary healthcare system’s response to Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV). Wentworth Healthcare, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (NBMPHN), Care and Connect program is designed to support primary care to recognise the sign's and make effective referrals for patients impacted by DFSV.

The GP Registrar Welcome Dinner is an opportunity to bring together GP Supervisors and Practice Managers of our teaching practices, along with PHN staff and key stakeholders within the region, to welcome GP Registrars to the Nepean Blue Mountains area.

Blue Mountains: Research indicates that GPs are frequently chosen by victim-survivors as the professionals to whom they disclose their experience, with 4 in 10 victim-survivors seeing advice or support from a general practitioner or other health professional.

This blended learning workshop aims to increase health  professionals’ skill and confidence in taking a detailed suicide  history and developing a collaborative management plan to  increase the safety of people planning suicide.
