Triage in General Practice workshop - Penrith

Overview

We are inviting all practice staff to join us for a face-to-face Triage in General Practice workshop. The workshop covers the RACGP standards on triage, identifying high-risk patients, implementing practice policies and systems, techniques of triage and medico-legal issues.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Implement a triage system in a general practice to mitigate risk in relation to the allocation of patient appointments, that complies with RACGP practice standards.
  • Safely and appropriately implement triage skills in general practice, including those relating to telephone calls, procedures in the waiting room and interaction with the general practice team. 
  • Use triage tools and guidelines to recognise and prioritise patients in the waiting room.   
  • Document triage interactions, including advice received from other staff members.
