Kingswood
Improving
the cultural competency of health care services can increase Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples’ access to health care, increase the
effectiveness of care that is received, and contribute to closing the gap in
health outcomes. This accredited training is a comprehensive series
designed to increase cultural awareness and develop practical skills to enable
health professionals to deliver culturally appropriate health care to their
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
This
training was specifically developed for our region, with interactive sessions
allowing participants to learn, ask questions and explore culture, and improve
their understanding of the importance of cultural safety in accessing
healthcare.

Eliza is a Yuin/Nuenonne woman and Aboriginal Consultant engaged by Wentworth Healthcare. She has worked extensively with communities and service providers in the design and delivery of Aboriginal community, health, and mental health services in urban, rural, and remote settings.
Mitchell Beggs-Mowczan, Wentworth Healthcare
Mitchell is a Wiradjuri man who was born and raised on Darug land. Mitchell has worked in Aboriginal health for 11 years and is currently completing a Bachelor of Community Services.
