Overview
Primary care (whole of practice) plays a vital role in supporting patients impacted by abuse. Join our 3‑part training series covering Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual Violence and Child Sexual Abuse.
The sessions will build practical skills to recognise signs of harm and respond safely and compassionately. Through evidence‑informed content and practical guidance, this series supports primary care teams to play a vital role in early identification, trauma‑informed care, and effective pathways to support.
Each session features a subject matter expert with specialist knowledge on the topic.
Session 1: Introduction to Domestic and Family Violence
This session builds foundational understanding of domestic and family violence (DFV), including types of abuse, common health impacts, patterns of coercive control, and barriers to disclosure. Primary care professionals will learn how DFV presents in clinical settings and how to respond safely and sensitively.
You will also meet and learn about how a Linker can support you and your practice with advice and information relating to the topic.
